Course Overview
This course has both CAANZ and CPA accreditation and meets their academic eligibility for full membership. The Bachelor of Accounting can be studied either part-time or full-time.

Through active and applied learning in small classes, you’ll learn a skills and knowledge in a range of accounting topics such as accounting systems and processes; taxation; finance and financial management; economics; accounting information systems; quantitative methods for accounting; audit and assurance; management accounting; financial accounting and reporting; and business law.
Alongside these accounting areas, you’ll also cover core business topics enabling you to develop comprehensive professional accounting skills, knowledge and capabilities, while an elective will enable you to focus on another topic of interest in business.
In your final year you’ll undertake a professional accounting project which involves applying your learning within a real business environment. You’ll undertake a deep-dive project into a specialist area of accounting and on successful completion you’ll have real-life work experience to add to your CV.

Entry criteria
Standard Entry Criteria
Admission, entry, selection, and enrolment into programmes will be in accordance with the Academic Regulations and/or, where approved, specific programme regulations.
Domestic students under 20 and all international students must:
Meet the University Entrance criteria as specified by NZQA or have education achievement at least equivalent to NZQA University Entrance. Where an applicant did not attend schooling in New Zealand, the relevant equivalent to University Entrance will be considered on a case-by-case basis; AND
Meet all programme entry requirements; OR
Provide evidence of ability to complete academic and other requirements (special admission requirements).
Domestic students over 20
Students who do not hold a University Entrance qualification or equivalent may be eligible for admission to a Bachelor's degree programme subject to any entry and selection requirements specified in the respective programme regulations and have evidence of ability to complete academic requirements.
English language requirements
IELTS Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5 or completed New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 4 with the Academic Endorsement or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined by NZQA.
