Health Centres (Te Whare Hauora)
Our Health Centres at Mokoia Campus (Rotorua) and Windermere Campus in (Tauranga) offer on-site free healthcare service to Toi Ohomai students and staff.
We offer the services of kaitiaki nurses, counselling services and referrals to internal and external support services. All of our services are confidential.
Main Campus Services
The healthcare services include:

- Treatment of minor injuries and wounds
- Health screening (asthma, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks)
- Sexual health services
- Support with mental health issues such as stress, anxiety or other challenges you may be facing

- Referrals to internal and external healthcare and wellbeing services and support

Regional Campus Services
Health and counselling services are available during the term times on specified days at our Taupō, Tokoroa, Waipā and Whakatāne campuses (see service hours for the relevant campus in contacts below).

Mental Health Kaitiaki Practitioner
We have two experienced and skilled mental Health Nurses who can support with:
- Assessing and supporting students with mental health challenges
- Stress and anxiety management
- In-class mental health workshops
- Regular mindfulness sessions
- Referral to external health organisations

Free Counselling Services
Our counselling service provides ākonga with short-term counselling support. These sessions are free for all ākonga and are approximately 50-60 minutes long.
This confidential service allows you to discuss your concerns and emotions in a safe place.
For many, one to two sessions may be enough, but if you do need more we can discuss this with you and develop a plan or offer referrals if appropriate.
Counselling Services include:

- Online web-based appointments (via Zoom)

What is discussed during sessions is strictly confidential within the Health Services Centre unless permission is given otherwise. Available for all ākonga (Whakatāne, Online and Remote ākonga).
