Peer Teaching Observations: Continuing Professional Development for Tutors
In 2011, Tutor Tania Berryman conducted evaluative research to determine the usefulness of the London Metropolitan University peer teaching observations model, which was piloted by three Bay of Plenty Polytechnic (Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology) groups.
Surveys and interviews with staff who had been involved in the pilot provided useful information about the value of peer observation as a collegial professional development tool, and feedback for improving the implementation of a peer observation model.
