A vibrant inner-city café will soon come to life and bridge the gap between education and the hospitality industry.

Collaboration was on the menu when Toi Ohomai hospitality, culinary arts and events students teamed up to put on a Matariki themed dinner. 

Passionate foodies, hospitality leaders and producers are uniting today as part of a new collective celebrating the Coastal Bay of Plenty’s evolving food story.

Toi Ohomai culinary arts student, Samantha Warena, has been crowned the North Island winner of the Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat award, which recognises the exceptional talent of New Zealand budding chefs.  

A mountain biking event for Rotorua children provided Toi Ohomai students with the perfect setting to get hands-on event management experience. 

Toi Ohomai level 5 culinary arts class joined forces with Rotorua Whakaora to prepare more than 400 meals for the community.
