About this Scholarship

These Study Awards reduce financial barriers for applicants 18 years or older who are enrolling in their first semester (or year) of tertiary study at Toi Ohomai. Applicants must have previous work experience and/or clear study and career aspirations.

Preference will be given to those who reside in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato regions. There are 15 $1,000 Study Awards available for full time students and 10 $500 Study Awards for part-time students.

Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate they have:
  • the necessary motivation to complete a vocational qualification
  • the ability to meet the academic demands of the course they have chosen
  • be fully enrolled and another financial situation

A brief letter outlining:

  • why you have chosen the course you have applied for
  • how financial assistance will support you to succeed
  • information on career plans, goals, achievements, community involvement or personal strengths, especially in the area you are studying towards.
Any additional information which may help the selection panel with their decision may also be provided.

Applicants who do not supply this information will not be considered by the selection panel.
