Criteria

Applicants must provide:

  • proof of acceptance as a new student into a 2025 Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice course
  • completed application form
  • letter of explanation with supporting evidence which sets out the following:
    • career goals, including why you wish to become a licensed immigration adviser and how this will benefit you and your community
    • your achievements to date, your personal strengths, and any community interests you have
    • summary of your ability and commitment to succeed in academic study at a tertiary level
    • an indication of personal financial circumstances which show how this scholarship will assist you
  • CV/resume with supporting evidence outlining post-secondary education, qualifications, work experience and community involvement

  • certified proof of NZ citizenship or permanent residency

  • evidence that you have met the entry criteria for this Graduate Diploma (This may include an offer letter from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology or a confirmation of enrolment)

  • evidence of employment (either paid or voluntary) in an organisation approved by the Immigration Advisors Authority (IAA) as a not-for-profit organisation (this would typically be a letter from the employer)

  • a personal statement of career aspirations, including an intention to continue to work in the not-for-profit sector; this statement should also explain how this scholarship would assist the applicant’s financial circumstances (This could be written confirmation from the head of the organisation that the organisation has not-for-profit status from the IAA, or a letter from the IAA recognising the organisation as a not-for-profit entity. A not-for-profit organisation is: an organisation in its own right, one that does not return profits to those who own or control it, one that does not charge more than a nominal fee for services provided, institutionally separate from government, self-governing, one that has voluntary membership and participation)
