Relaxation Massage Course Graduate Outcomes

MassageMassage is a touch therapy, with students giving and receiving massage on an ongoing weekly basis.

Tutors informally observed that many of them showed personal growth during their study. In 2013, massage tutor Pip Charlton decided to investigate more formally what changes in their lives graduates reported once they had completed the course.

She surveyed graduates of the Certificate in Relaxation Massage course to ask how their study had affected various aspects of their lives, such as confidence, self-esteem, personal relationships and social skills, and how important to them these outcomes were.

The findings of this study suggest that graduates value a range of “soft” outcomes from their study in addition to the qualification they complete.
