Fostering Quality Improvement Educational Outcomes in Undergraduate Nursing Curricula: Graduates’ Perceptions of Their Preparation for Practice Change

This research project investigated the longitudinal outcomes of a new partnership-based quality improvement (QI) delivery model in the Bachelor of Nursing (BN) programme with new graduate nurses at the conclusion of their first year of practice.

The study used questionnaires, focus group and interview data from past BN students and other key stakeholders including Toi Ohomai teaching and clinical staff, local district health board staff, and new graduate nurses.

We collected information about perceptions related to QI and how their undergraduate learning, teaching and assessment experiences translated to their practice as newly registered nurses.
