Become a qualified beauty therapist with this hands-on beauty course.

You'll learn from our local and internationally trained tutors and get real-life beauty therapy experience at our on-site beauty clinic.

You’ll learn how to provide beauty services like mini facials, eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, waxing and makeup applications, as well as manicures and pedicures. Learn customer service and sales skills for a range of products – as well as essential reception and cashiering skills which can be used in any service or retail role.

This course also expands your mind with topics in anatomy, physiology, nutrition and salon skills!

Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4)

Course Entry Information

Entry criteria

You must have:

  • NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Māori or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2 or,
  • completed the New Zealand Certificate in Make Up and Skincare (Level 3), or
  • evidence of ability to complete academic requirements.

For domestic applicants for whom English is not their first language evidence of language competency may be required.

Standard Entry Criteria

Admission, entry, selection, and enrolment into programmes will be in accordance with the Academic Regulations and/or, where approved, specific programme regulations.

For courses at levels 1-3, domestic and international students will be required to:

Provide evidence of ability to complete academic requirements.

English language requirements

An IELTS General or Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language (Level 4), or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related Rules (Rule 18).
