Ākonga Māori

Our kaupapa is to ensure ākonga Māori feel welcomed and have a sense of belonging throughout their life and learning at Toi Ohomai.
We arrange kaupapa Māori based activities and events to foster whanaungatanga and kotahitanga amongst our ākonga.
We also help with cultural information, study skills, such as academic writing and time management; and connect you to people who can help you along the way.
Accessibility, library, careers & employability, engagement facilitators (pastoral care) to name a few.
We encourage a strong ākonga Māori community network through our Nga Tētēkura group.
If you're new to Toi Ohomai and starting this semester, you'll receive an email from Hinemaea to welcome and invite you to an ākonga Māori Pōhiri and whakawhanaunga – this will be before your course starts.
